Hand carved simple design cherry or maple ? wooden frame, with bow style ornamental decor on top. One appraiser I had taken it to previously (4 years ago) could only give approx. date. Hi Patrice, Oil paintings from this period and style normally range in value between $400-5000 dollars, so even without knowing the exact artist and place of origin, your painting probably falls within that range. However, art is very subject to opinion and if you're serious about selling your painting, your best bet would be an antique auction house. Antique collectors willing to pay the highest dollar frequent these auctions and the auction house would help you set a fair starting bid. Thanks for sharing, its a wonderful painting. |

Hi Judy, LG Fullam & sons manufactured furniture from 1889 to 1909 in Ludlow, VT. Sight unseen, your LG Fullam rocker is worth $500-600 dollars in excellent condition. I have no clue on the condition of your rocker, so the price could be a lot less (if in poor condition). If you send us a photo, I'd be happy to post it for you. You can send the photo to tim AT antiquesnavigator.com. |

PLEASE HELPI think it is Meissen, but not sure. Measuring 30cm tall. It is a basic lampshade, but has no cupola. In excellent conditions. No cracks. The colors are clean. Submit your estimate of worth |

|
Hi Ronaldo, Meissen porcelain is usually marked with two swords crossing each other. I do not believe your porcelain lamp is a Meissen piece, but I could be wrong. I would give your porcelain lamp an estimated value of $100-200 dollars, but I do not recognize the marker, so please take the estimate with a grain of salt. Whomever is the manufacturer, its a beautiful antique. |
Wooden lady nutcrackerSubmitted by: Teresa |
|
PLEASE HELPI have a wooden naked lady nutcracker. She sits up and appears to have an African face. Her legs spread to crack the nuts. I have had her for about 10 years and think I picked up at a yard sale or Flea Market. She is in great shape but I have never used her for cracking a nut. For I want to keep her that way. I have no idea how old she is and have searched the Internet to find out any information. I keep finding the one that lays down and is a little similar that every thinks is from the 50"s or 60's. To me this one appears to be older than that and the features are very different in the face and all. I would like to find out anything about her or do I have the only one in the world. That's what it feels like with all the searching I have done. So any information and what it is worth would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Teresa Submit your estimate of worth |

|
Hi Teresa, Your wooden lady nutcracker is worth $50-100 dollars. Hand-made antiques from Africa are fairly common and do not bring a premium since some many were produced. Since they are hand-made, every one is unique and different, but rarely sell for over $150 dollars. I hope this information helps and thanks for sharing! |
Civil War Era 3 Tined ForksSubmitted by: Elizabeth |

PLEASE HELPI found some very old Civil War era 3 tined forks among many other items in a house I purchsed...no idea of the worth. I don't see where I can add a photo, so sorry...but I have 5 small wooden handled, and 4 larger wooden handled forks...also one that looks and feels like it may be bone or perhaps ivory. Hi Elizabeth, Very cool cutlery! Anything from the civil war era is just great to see! Unfortunately, your civil war era cutlery isn't worth a great deal of money. They typically sell in the $5-6 dollars range for each fork. So you have about $50 dollars worth of civil war forks. Here's almost the exact same fork with a knife that sold for $10 dollars: Three tine bone handle fork and knife with ebony inlay and here are some additional civil war era forks that sold in that price range: Antique civil war era 3 tine fork Antique civil war cutlery Antique civil war 3 prong forks |

PLEASE HELPI have an old antique yale linus padlock with the #32 and a 2 on it. I was wondering what it could be worth. I have photo Submit your estimate of worth |

Estimated Value submitted by Tim |
|
Hi Michael, I had to call in the big guns to identify this one! I've never seen a Yale padlock like yours! Here's what my dad had to say about your Linux Yale padlock: \"This appears to be a reproduction of the first pin tumbler mechanism used for a padlock in the U.S.A., invented by Linus Yale in 1857. The originals are extremely rare, so several talented modern locksmiths have reproduced them. The most noteworthy have been made by George Hill out of California in 1976, with about 90 produced. Although not as rare as the originals, they are sought after by serious collectors. They usually sell for $300-$400.\" It would the find of the century (at least for lock collectors) if your Yale padlock turned out to be an authentic prototype from 1857! However, even a reproduction is worth $400 dollars, so you still have a great padlock! Thanks for sharing, its a really awesome lock! |

|
I believe this to be an original Yale Linus padlock. I found it in a collection from an old locksmith. If it is the real deal,, what would that be worth ?? | |
Estimated Value submitted by Tim |
|
I highly doubt it's a original, but you could have it authenticated by a museum to prove its authenticity. Just because you found it in a locksmith shop doesn't prove it's an original. A reproduction could end up in a locksmith shop just as easily as a original, in fact, its more likely because there are a lot more reproductions of this lock than there are originals. If it were a original Yale Linus prototype pin tumbler padlock, I would say it would sell for $2000+ I suggest you bring it to a antique lock show and let a couple more of the collectors take a look at it. You could also find the highest buyer that way too. I can send you my dads email address, he's been collecting antique padlocks since the 1970s. He'd be happy to help you out. |

oval carved coffee table w/rose inset & original glass topSubmitted by: Aprile |
|
PLEASE HELPMy coffee table was purchased by my parents when they married in 1959. I do not know if they purchased it new or used. There was a companion piece which was a taller end table but did not have a glass top. My coffee table is entirely carved with the exception of the top which has a oval inset with carved roses. The ends of the coffee table has a sort of raised lip which is carved as well. My Mother's favorite was oak but I cannot tell if this is oak or maybe rosewood. It is 19 inches wide by 3 feet in length. It is aprox 17 1/2 inches in height. The oval inset of roses is 8 inches wide by 15 1/2 in length. I can take a picture and e-mail it if that would help. I lived in Huntsville, AL and was required to have my antique furniture appraised for my homeowners insurance. The appraiser who was there strictly to appraise my household contents told me he saw a coffee table go up on the auction block like mine for $11,000. The man was there to appraise my furniture so he had no reason to lie to me. I keep my table in my bedroom in a safe location to prevent any type of accident or harm especially since it has it's original glass top with the bevel around the edges. I am updating my insurance as well in Mississippi for household contents and would love to know the true value and history behind my inherited family piece. Also, any information you could give me on a site to look up Italian Tole Iron Lamps would be greatly appreciated. I have a pair of tulip lamps and below the shade it has a candle which I've been unable to locate any that look similar. Please let me know if pictures of my coffee table would assist you in anyway. Thank you so much for helping my figure out my coffee table mystery... Sincerely, Aprile Smith 601.317.4817 cell Submit your estimate of worth |

1800 + trunk unsure of the year?Submitted by: Kathy |
|
PLEASE HELPI purchased this trunk at an auction and from what I can tell it could be anywhere from 100 to 200 years old. It has a rounded top. Which I know that these were made as to not stack other trunks or luggage on top while transporting. The trunk is not in the best of shape but one really interesting thing about it is that it was made with square nails. From what I have studied on square nails, these in and of themselves can be VERY valuable. The trunk is missing it's inside tray. The trunk also has its original key. I have photos, however, I do not see an option on here where I can send the photo? Submit your estimate of worth |
