Hi Maxine, Your Gold Embossed Jewelry Casket is estimated between $40 to $60 without know the age or the maker. It could also be Ormolu which is an 18th-century English term for applying finely ground, high-karat gold to an object in bronze. In later years the term and definition have changed quite a bit. I would suggest doing a little more research before deciding to sell. It is a beautiful piece. Thanks, |

African child carrying a traySubmitted by: Sherlyn |
|
PLEASE HELPLooks like a black slave in in a cold climate, could be a child. It has either tall boots or leg wrapping. The top is a yellow tunic style top with braided cords and tassels in front at neck area, goes down to above knee area, Sleaves are down past the elbow but looks to be the same as the waste wrap & collar. She looks to have a sash wrapped twice on the waste, loosely tied in front. I say "she" because her head is wrapped (in yellow) and a short ponytail at the base of her neck. Done in cast iron and stands on a 2 1/2 inch tall, ornate heart shaped base. Looks to be about 12 inches tall in total. No markings seen. Submit your estimate of worth |

Large Elephant Humidor Black Forest???Submitted by: |
|
PLEASE HELPMeasures 12" tall, 8" wide, heavy dark wood, has working music box underneath compartment. Elephant appears to be carrying a tree trunk and a baby elephant is attached to the back of it. Working mechanism inside basket suggest a piece missing that moves/spins or goes up/down in basket when music plays its waltz. Paper label is attached to bottom but too old to read. Only thing I made out was the number 2 and AIR. The rest is handwritten in script. Elephant is missing a tusk and baby elephant has a hole in its belly like another piece may be missing inside it. Carved 1945 in front of elephant and the words "To my brother John from Louis in Zurich Switzerland" It's really so beautiful to me but I need to know more about it because the elephant makes no sense to me to have a baby hanging off the basket like that and playing a waltz. :) Thank you for your time! Hi Nancy, Your set of Noritake N 1468 is estimated between $125 to $200. If the set was in perfect condition you could get as high as $350. This set was not assigned a name like some others such as Noritake Chalfonte or Noritake- Veranda that could be because yours is much older than these. One very similar to yours sold for $100 in 2013 but all of the pieces were not included. The chips are going to be the problem when selling. I would check on the price of replacing them if possible. Hope this helps, |
