PLEASE HELPMy name is Alanna, i am located in Johannesburg South Africa. I came across your website. My Father passed away a few months back and he was a well know clock maker in our area, he left us with a antique wooden Skull clock with the moving eyes almost like that dog clock you have on your website. As we are very unfamiliar with the industry could you possibly give me more info on the clock and please advise as to what we could sell it for? I am unsure of exactly where you are situated but maybe you know of someone that might be interested in buying it? I am pretty sure we could get a bit more from an international buyer then someone in our country. I do believe it is quite a rare piece? it is in working condition please see attached photo of it. barley spiral wingback cane rocking chairSubmitted by: |
PLEASE HELPGood day! I would love to know if you could possibly help identify the age/origin & value of the rocking chair pictured. I purchased the rocking chair last week at a consignment store in NC. The only info I know is that a lady in her late 80's brought the chair in and stated that it was her great grandmothers. It's a solid chair and it looks like the cane has been replaced within the past 30 years. I have attached one pic of a arm chair I found online that is very similar to the style of my rocking chair. I have not been able to find any other rocking or arm chair any closer. The arm chair is Charles II circa 1675. Looking fwd to your opinion. Submit your estimate of worth |

Antique Persian Dagger/KnifeSubmitted by: Jason |
PLEASE HELPUnfortunately, I do not know much about this dagger that I bought at an estate sale. All the owner could tell me is that the dagger is old but not sure how old. I did some research and it appears to be Persian. Although, because the condition looks very good for an "old" dagger, it makes me wonder if this isn't an original Persian dagger. Hi Nick, I believe what you have is a replica of either a Markwick Markham (1725-1825)or George Prior (1793-1830). They both created pieces for the Turkish market. In my research I have found that you will find their name on the front of the watch. Please see below: http://www.antique-watch.com/des/w8131.html http://www.global-horology.com/GHMB/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6719 This is a watch currently for sale. I have converted the price for you. 8,000.00 CHF = 8,431.88 USD 12,000.00 CHF = 12,647.82 USD If you see any other markings on the watch please let me know. I hope this helps,
